Description
Arts organizations and artists are beginning to make use of new media tools to engage directly with fans. Review examples of effective uses of social media by artists and for artists with two of Salt Lake City’s leading social media counselors. Learn what works and what doesn’t. Leave with practical, actionable ideas for supporting your communication and marketing efforts through social media.
Join Pete Codella, 2009 program director of the Social Media Club of Salt Lake City, and Brian Seethaler , 2010 program director of the Social Media Club of Salt Lake City, as they critique a handful of social media initiatives by various arts entities. They’ll show the good, the bad and the ugly. Attendees will receive a Siskel and Ebert-like approach to putting social media to work for arts organizations. Thumbs up, or thumbs down.

Included in the case study reviews will be ample time for questions and answers, and back and forth commentary and counsel.
Returning after their popular 2009 Mountain West Conference on the Arts workshop — Social media and the arts: Why and how it should work for you — version two of the Codella and Seethaler presentation builds on social media theory and strategic underpinnings to focus on practical, actionable, how-to examples and advice.
