Here Pete Codella, APR provides commentary on industry trends, links to resources and a speaking schedule – highlighting the various places and organizations for which his services are employed.

Codella is an Accredited Public Relations advisor, experienced, award-winning business communication professional, marketing and advertising counselor.

He has a particular affinity for the convergence of public relations and technology.

His Accreditation is through the Universal Accreditation Board sponsored in part by the Public Relations Society of America. He is a former chapter president and assembly delegate for PRSA–Las Vegas Valley Chapter. He has also served a two-year stint on the national executive committee for the PRSA Independent Practitioners Alliance.

Pete Codella is a former president of the Las Vegas chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators and in February 2008 received that organization’s highest honor, the Communicator of the Year award. The previous July he received the IABC/Las Vegas President’s Award for his exemplary volunteer contribution to the chapter.

So far he is the only person to serve as president of the Las Vegas chapters of both IABC and PRSA.

In 2009 Codella served as the program director, or chapter president, for the Social Media Club of Salt Lake City and also chaired the world’s first Social Media Club sponsored awards program, the Utah Social Media Awards.

He has senior level management experience in public relations and advertising agencies and has operated his own firm for more than seven years.

He created and taught an online course for the University of California, Irvine Extension on using social media as a public relations tool. He currently teaches Social Media for the Independent Educational Consultant for UCI. He is a former adjunct professor in UNLV’s Division of Educational Outreach for the Certificate in Public Relations Skills program.

Since the early 1990s he has been involved in the management of design, content and marketing strategies for online initiatives including Web sites, e-mails, blogs and various types of social media now associated with Web 2.0.
