About

This site is for forward-thinking, technology focused public relations consulting and presenting.

Here Pete Codella, APR provides commentary on industry trends, links to resources and a speaking schedule – highlighting the various places and organizations for which his services are employed.

Pete Codella is an Accredited Public Relations advisor, experienced business communication professional, marketing and advertising counselor.

He has a particular affinity for the convergence of public relations and technology.

His Accreditation is through the Universal Accreditation Board sponsored in part by the Public Relations Society of America. He is a former chapter president and assembly delegate for PRSA–Las Vegas Valley Chapter. He recently completed a two-year stint on the national executive committee for the PRSA Independent Practitioners Alliance.

Pete Codella is a former president of the Las Vegas chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators and in February 2008 received that organization’s highest honor, the Communicator of the Year award. The previous July he received the IABC/Las Vegas President’s Award for his exemplary volunteer contribution to the chapter.

He is the only person to ever be president of the Las Vegas chapters of both IABC and PRSA.

He has senior level management experience in public relations and advertising agencies and has operated his own firm for more than six years.

He is a former adjunct professor in UNLV’s Division of Educational Outreach for the Certificate in Public Relations Skills program.

Since the 1990s he has been involved in the management of design, content and marketing strategies for online initiatives including Web sites, e-mails, blogs and various types of social media now associated with Web 2.0.

Codella also operates NewsCactus — a social media equipped online newsroom solution that puts the power of self-publishing on the Internet directly in the hands of business communicators without relying on IT or Web design professionals. NewsCactus accomplishes results similar to corporate blogging — search engine optimization, excellent online positioning and utilization of RSS feeds to tell a story — without the need for comment moderation.

Together with his wife, when she’s not working on her Pampered Chef business, Codella also owns and operates Codella Travel.
