Convergence is the social media watchcry in 2010

Last month I blogged about some predictions for 2010. My first prediction was for convergence of social media tools and technologies.

I’m excited to read today that Seesmic has acquired Ping.fm (see the announcement on Mashable).

Although I’m a fan of TweetDeck, which competes with Seesmic as a Twitter client, if Seesmic will give me the ability to not only manage publishing on Twitter and sorting Twitter conversations, but also allow me to publish on some 50 other social media sites, I’m all for it.

Ultimately I’d like to see one user interface where I can publish, interact and purchase online. And I think the interface needs to fit the separate needs of individuals, corporations, nonprofits and associations.

Other Tools?

What are your favorite social media tools? Do you publish to multiple sites via one platform? If so, what platform do you prefer and why?

I love Pixelpipe.com. You can push Status updates and media uploads to tons of services at once.
