How to receive notifications when someone posts to your Facebook fan page

Today during my Ragan PR Daily webinar (#ragan17) the question was raised:
How can we receive an email notification when someone posts a comment on our Facebook fan page?
I thought there was a setting where you edit the fan page for notifications, but, upon further research, it appears there is not.
Despite repeated requests from within the Facebook community (I found a forum discussion on this topic) it’s not a feature supported by Facebook . . . yet.
But there is a workaround.
When you post something on your Facebook fan page, click on “Like.” This makes you the first commenter for the post, whether the original post is a comment, link, picture, video, etc. — any kind of content.
Because you “Liked” the item, Facebook then subsequently notifies you of additional comments or likes on the same post.
The update shows up under the Facebook fan page administrator’s “Notifications.”
It’s a clunky workaround, for sure. But it’ll at least get you notifications of activity on your Facebook fan page.
And Facebook, if you’re listening, Facebook email inbox notifications of posts on Facebook fan pages would sure be a helpful additional feature for fan page administrators.
