Twitter as a note taker
Posted in Commentary on April 22, 2009
As my Facebook friends know, much to their chagrin, I’m fond of using Twitter to take notes during online webinars.
While it may broadcast my quick note taking thoughts to all my networks through my FriendFeed, it also nicely takes care of a few other things.
Here are some advantages I see to using Twitter for the purpose of taking notes:
- It archives my thoughts for future reference.
- It contributes to a worldwide dialogue which can be accessed online by anyone doing a Twitter search for the hashtag topic.
- It creates engagement with other seminar attendees.
- It introduces new thoughts, ideas and products into the mix.
Seems to me that Twitter is a great tool for a type of crowdsourcing — gathering conversation — focused on a specific event or topic.
Do any of you have favorite uses for Twitter?
