Where’s the social media aggregator?

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve increasingly come to wonder where the one social media application is that will combine all my social media work.

Yes, I’m familiar with FriendFeed and Tumblr.

And yes, I use Facebook to provide a running list of my updates (my feeds feed my Facebook profile, if you know what I mean).

This disjointed feeling carries over into usernames and passwords. Talk about a convoluted, complicated system of remembering login information for not only my stuff, but for my client’s social media stuff as well.

Can’t we make this easier?

I’ve been pondering this topic these few days, putting my thoughts together to publish on my blog, and today, I ran across an article on eweek.com (found it through a friend’s Twitter updates) about Sun Microsystems’ identity access management strategy.

I’ll look forward to the day when all this is easier and in less than a few dozen different locations.

Perhaps my readers can point me in the right direction for a complete platform manager, or at least an aggregator that displays everything in one place.

    Hi Pete,

Nice blog, came across it while looking for news on SocMed and PR.

In response to this article, there is a new software that aggregates your Social Media for you.

    It’s called Sobees: http://www.sobees.com

    Hope this is of help.

  2. A friend on Twitter referred me to Marc Canter’s blog and I have to say I’m optimistic about the idea of dashboards. It could accomplish what I’m hoping for. Take a look: http://go.prpete.com/53m6
